Reading the Weather

Luke 13:6-9

"Jesus’ critics see things a whole different way than Jesus. They see the division and disruption Jesus is causing when he preaches radical love of enemies and takes radical action by healing on the Sabbath. They say the disruption and division are signs that Jesus is the one outside the Law of God, that he is the one who deserves God’s punishment, that he is the one who needs to repent.

"'No,' Jesus is saying, 'You’re reading the signs of the times all wrong. You’re missing what God is doing.'

"If Jesus wants to show what it looks like to read signs wrong, he cannot find a better example than what happens next."
